George Giannakoulas
George Giannakoulas is Professor of Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic. He leads numerous clinical trials in pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. Dr Giannakoulas has spent most of his academic and clinical career in Thessaloniki, complemented by a two-year fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He is the immediate past Chair of the ESC Working Group on Pulmonary Circulation and Right Ventricular Function. He has authored 445 PubMed-indexed publications (25,300 citations; h-index 48) and serves as Associate Editor of the Hellenic Journal of Cardiology and the International Journal of Cardiology: Congenital Heart Disease.
